[ Cassandra is a loyal, disciplined agent of the GDA, wielding unstable electrical powers kept in check by a shock collar. Raised to obey and conditioned to endure, she clings to purpose - the ever greater casue. ]
₀1 . Extended lore.
---
Cassandra always wanted to be a hero.
Born in Poland to loving parents, she never got the chance to know them beyond the letters they sometimes sent — carefully screened, heavily redacted, but still theirs. They made a choice. A painful one. They gave her to the Global Defense Agency, believing it was the only way to protect her, to hopfully fix the sickness she cared, the powers the only way she could have a future.
Her ability, to absorb and redirect electricity, was a little hard to work with at first. Even once she could control it, she couldn't make much of her own power from nothing. So they strapped a shock collar around her neck and turned her into something controlled. It hurts. It always has. But after years of use, the pain has become part of her. She could take it off. She doesn’t think to. It’s simply always there, like a weight she’s forgotten how to shed.
She grew up in the GDA’s care, raised on discipline, training, and the distant glow of the Guardians of the Globe. They were everything she wasn’t—bright, beloved, free. She trained in their shadow, hoping one day she’d stand beside them. But hope is a dangerous thing in a place like this. She wasn’t trained to save lives. She was trained to fill forms and take care of threats before they started.
Then the Guardians were slaughtered. By a power she couldn't even imagine fighting back against.
There was no one left to look up to. No shining examples of justice, no one to tell her what she should strive to be. The GDA didn’t mourn them; they simply moved forward, and so did she. That’s what she was made for.
The only constant in her life—the only father she’s ever really known—is Cecil Stedman. He’s the boss, the man who’s always been there, the one who gives the orders. And so, in her mind, that makes him family. Cecil, however, does not share this sentiment. He sees a soldier, not a daughter. She knows this, she's navie — not stupid. That doesn't change the way she sees him.
To Cassandra, there’s nothing outside of the mission—no hobbies, no dreams, nothing that belongs solely to her. She he fills out paperwork, she restores powers to citys. She follows orders.Becasue it's all she knows.
